I'll tell you right now that it takes a super talented writer to make me believe in love at first sight, or even a few days. Very few rarely do it and most especially not in a novella. Well, Ms. Campbell not only made me believe, but she just made an instant fan of me too. I adored Ewan, the Earl of Lyle, who was charming, charismatic, and often outrageous. Then there was Charlotte or "Cinderella" as he calls her, who was spunky, stubborn and witty. Together, these two created fireworks and their chemistry was absolutely amazing to behold. I adored them both and fell in love with their short but enchanting love story from the very first chapter. Bravo to this author who wrote such a heartwarming and romantic tale that literally took my breath away at times. I loved every second I spent reading this beautiful and touching little historical romance and cannot recommend it highly enough! 5 Wonderful Stars!Product details

Remember when Cinderella (via Walt Disney) sang her desire for her prince to come some day?
Guess what?
He came (pardon my sexual innuendo) and Anna Campbell really delivered! Phew!
The plot is, understandably, less complex than her novels; but for a novella-sized story, her characters, Lyle and Charlotte, are as robust and sensual as any well-developed novel-sized characters.
We all know people who behave rationally only part of the time, the rest of the time they're taking stupid risks and do things they might have to explain and pay for later. And that's what's about to happen, and Lyle and Charlotte know this. But, they're risk takers....
The romance theme was stepped up a couple of page-turning, fairy-tale degrees to steamy when our Cinderella doesn't just fall into bed with her sexy, handsome, and seductive PC...she literally puts one of her slippers in the middle of this charmer's bed as an announcement of her wanton wish.
Yes, there's a 2d plot...they have to rescue the livestock from flood waters; HOWEVER, by this time, there is no escaping the flood of emotions between our Cinderella and prince charming.
If you love...like... Regency romances with sizzle, I recommend you get your iced drink and enjoy Anna Campbell's story.
It is pouring rain. Ewan is soaked as he rides up to the very large home. Cinderella, or a close facsimile answers the door. She tries to turn him away, but he is stranded because the bridge is now underwater. Cinderella introduces herself as a maid named Flora.
In reality he is an earl who has specifically come to this estate to see the young lady. Her name is Charlotte and her father told Ewan that they were perfect for one another.
About 99% of this book contains only the two characters, Charlotte and Ewan. He is immediately enthralled. She is all her father described and more. She is spirited, smart, stubborn, lovely and absolutely perfect for Ewan.
Charlotte is immediately taken with this stranger who appears at her door. Ewan is humorous, intelligent thoughtful, kind and perfect for Charlotte.
This is more than romance. This is a love story. Two people get to know one another very well and what they learn about one another creates a deep and abiding love.
This is a novella which kept my complete attention from beginning to end.
Ms Campbell has created a wonderful sense of love and affection. Charlotte and Ewan are perfect for one another. She is darn lucky to get such a wonderful man and he is darn lucky to find the perfect woman for him.
This is the perfect story to read when you have a few hours free and you just want to dream away and relax for a little while. ‘Stranded with the Scottish Earl’ is a sweet romance novella that has a handsome, Scottish lord and a stubborn English woman in it. It swept me away from the beginning and I really enjoyed it.
Miss Charlotte Warren is living the perfect life or at least she believes it is and she thought her father thought so too so she’s a little surprised and hurt when she gets a letter from him telling her that he has found the perfect husband for her. In no way will she agree to marry this stranger!
Ewan Macrae, the Earl of Lyle is looking for a bride but he never thought that he would find her in a little village in the countryside but her father (who he met in London) made him curious enough to make Ewan decide to pay her a visit. But he never thought that a spring flood would leave them secluded from the outside world. Something that works in his favor because the woman that he meets isn’t very welcoming. But he knows in his heart that she’s the woman for him. So now he has a few days to convince Charlotte that marrying him wouldn’t be a bad idea. That he’s worth it and he will prove it in any way that he can.
I really loved the banter between Charlotte and Ewan and yes, everything did go fast but that’s much in the case in novellas. And sometimes you just want that magic where one look makes someone fall in love. Where love is simple. No fear, no hesitation just the knowledge that that one person is the one for you.
The story is told from both POV's. I’m really happy that the writer Anna Campbell gave this story an epilogue! It gave this story that something more.
Confession time I love stories in which the hero falls rapidly and permanently in love and then convinces the heroine that this is the real deal. There is something about a man willing to commit and to remain solid until he gets a commitment in return.
Improbabilities abound in the story--perhaps too many--but the writing is good, the characters are endearing and the story was fun, so I tied my disbelief to a bunch of helium balloons and let it float away.
The book is brief and breezy with a lovely (if highly improbable) ending, a good dog and a man who will help in the kitchen.
